Bessel Van Der Kolk, MD. author "The Body Keeps the Score."

I am a Certified and Consultant-in-Training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Certified and Consultant in Brainspotting, and a National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Certified Clinician. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Family Trauma Professional, and Certified Children and Adolescent Trauma Professional.
My clinical approach is trauma-focused and integrative. I am trained in Parts Work and Inner Child Work, and my work is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Structural Dissociation theory. I have advanced training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Deep Brain Reorienting, attachment-based interventions, and the neurobiology of grief.
Additional areas of expertise include substance use treatment, the Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (MID), chronic pain, sand tray therapy, and play therapy. My work is grounded in extensive trauma training and a strong foundation in neurobiology and relational healing.
I bring experience across multiple levels of care and diverse populations, including community mental health, the Department of Child Safety, psychiatric hospitals, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient group settings for adults and adolescents.
I have worked extensively with veterans, police, fire, and emergency response professionals, and have provided supervision to clinicians and other health professionals. My experience also includes supporting individuals in pregnancy crisis centers, members of the LGBTQ+ community, refugees, older adults, children, and adolescents.
This breadth of experience allows me to offer informed, compassionate, and culturally responsive care to individuals and families across the lifespan.

I offer therapy intensives in 3–6 hour sessions for clients who want focused, deeper therapeutic work. These extended sessions allow us to move beyond the start-and-stop rhythm of traditional weekly therapy, creating space for deeper processing, greater clarity, and meaningful forward momentum.
Each intensive is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs and goals. During these sessions, we may focus on approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), or Deep Brain Reorienting. In some cases, we may also integrate elements of these modalities to best support your healing process. Together, we will determine the approach that feels most aligned with your goals and your nervous system.
Please note that therapy intensives are not covered by insurance. Visit the Intensives page for current pricing and additional details.
